Reddish

This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 34 feet (10.4 meters) tall. The stiff, pointed stem is red, and is covered in brittle silver spines. It has a straight, flat, red trunk atop a wide platform of smooth, exposed roots. The branches are narrow and gray and are very long, thin and wispy.

The ripped-edged, sickle shaped leaves are yellow and yellow. They are rigid, but detach easily.

It is very slow growing, taking 40 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are bronze at the sides and silver at the center, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a dish with 60 raised, narrow petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like onion.

The caudiciform's skin is nearly impenetrable, the magenta flesh is sticky, and the washed-out yellow sap is thin and causes severe cramps if consumed.
