Crimson Succulent

This short leaf succulent grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall. The spear shaped stem is gray, and is covered in lots of rigid black spines. The ripped-edged, very narrow and elongated leaves are solid intense red or aquamarine, with azure zig-zags. Thick bunches of them grow from the base in no particular order. The leaves are delicate, and detach easily.

It is fast growing, taking 8 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are either violet or green, with a yellow center grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a dish made up of 4 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. It has a strong scent that smells like pine needles.

The leaf succulent's skin is delicate, the bronze flesh is rough, and the light yellow sap is thin and causes severe cramps if consumed.
