Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In marshes, and On rotten logs.
It is short, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches, and is very sturdy.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release hundred of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
