Spineleaf Azurefern
Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 67 feet (20.4 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stem is silver, and is covered in large amounts of rigid beige spines. It has a curved, wide, hazel trunk atop a round platform of ridged, exposed roots. The branches are stocky and orange and trail down to the ground.
The irregular-edged, broad, flat leaves are bronze and blue. They are hardy, and take some effort to detach.
It is steady-growing, taking 9 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are bronze on the edges and olive at the center grows at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cup. It has a weak scent that smells like petrol.
The caudiciform's skin is thin, the slate flesh is soft, and the azure sap is thin.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
It is difficult to cut through.
