Ground Ivy Flower

Flower type: Annual (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its lime green stem is very thin, and the large, dark brown leaves are circular with serrated edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Around 60 tiny flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with brown petals and an olive central disk. The flower head is made up of 6 petals in raised layers. They fall easily.

It has a weak scent that smells like sugar, and it has excessive amounts of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also particularly attractive to bees.

The sap is red.
It can grow in even the most barren lands.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
