Silverberry
Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This modest-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 106 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.
It has many thick, curved stems covered in knobbly, dark green bark, and the wood inside is light brown.
The branches are short and thin that and are covered with small bunches of huge, spear shaped, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of silver that gradient shifts to purple at the top, frail and clammy.
In early summer it produces clusters of tiny, light brown blossoms with 2 teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like perfume.
In early winter tiny broad, flat fruits ripen. The crispy lime skin is stretchy and sweet, and the slightly crunchy olive flesh is salty and oily. The lime seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.
