Twisting Vine Oak

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 21 meters (68.9 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 115 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, crooked trunk covered in ridged, burgundy bark, and inside, the flexible wood is pale brown-grey.

The excessive amount of branches are very long and thin and are covered with large amounts of smooth, large, thick leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of silver that gradient shifts to purple at the top.

In late summer it forms tiny, violet berries.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
