Magenta
Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)This short cactus grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. It splits near the top to form 6 pleated stems. Each stem is crimson or turquoise, and is covered in thick sheets of rigid magenta spines. The cuboid body is green, and is covered in copious amounts of flexible dark grey spines.
It is steady-growing, taking 10 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with solid light brown petals and an amber central disk grows at the top, reappearing after 6 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 40 curved petals. It has a soft scent that smells like old books.
The cactus's skin is thick, the lime flesh is waxy, and the crimson sap is thin.
It has impressive regenerative properties.
