Magenta

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for around 12 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several wide, wonky stems covered in very thick, silky, dark gray bark, and the wood inside is gray.

The branches are short and slender with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of small, sickle shaped, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are either cream, or magenta with bronze splotches, delicate and sticky.

It produces lots of small, lilac flowers with long, tapering petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a mildly strong scent that smells like misty mornings. In late spring it forms tinypurple berries.
