Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)This small, orange grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The cylindrical stalks grow in large clumps that are delicate and they spread and grow quickly.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a tiny, slate tuft.
During the mid-autumn, it produces an average amount of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with lots of tiny grains.
It is bio-luminescent.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It can survive a long time without water.
The entire plant is edible and the grains areslightly sour.
