Orange Ropevine

Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in its stem)

This average-sized flower grows up to 11 inches (28 cm) tall. Its orange stem is very thin, and the large, gray-green and moss green leaves are thin with irregular edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Each stem splits 2 to 8 times; a single tiny flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide, with petals that are gentle purple on the underside and amber on the top. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 40 curved petals. They fall easily.

It has a delicate scent that smells like blood, and it has a fair amount of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is visited by a large variety of them.

It is suitable for making strong rope
