Silverleaf Sunflower
Flower type: Perennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This average-sized flower grows up to 1.3 feet (41 cm) tall. Its silver stem is very thick, and the huge, moss green leaves are sickle shaped with wavy edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.
Each stem splits 2 to 8 times; a single giant flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 44 cm (17.3 inches) wide, with solid orange petals and a gold central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 50 curved petals. They are hardy.
It has a strong scent that smells like new books, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird and is ignored by most insect species.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
