Speckled
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 628 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a thick, slanted trunk covered in very thick, waxy, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is black.
The tangled mess of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with very large amounts of rough, miniature, stiff, pointed leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are emerald with bronze tips.
In early spring, it produces many balls of giant, brown blossoms with crescent-shaped petals. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like bonfire smoke.
In late summer it forms tiny, deep green seed pods.
The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
