Silverfern
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)This small tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 480 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in thin, ridged, silver and white bark, and inside, the soft wood is pale brown-grey.
The excessive amount of branches are very long and slender and are covered with large amounts of crispy, miniature, asymmetrical leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are light grey and light brown.
In late summer it forms medium-sized, blood red, winged seeds that float and land far away.
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
It can survive a very long time without water.
It is excellent at collecting and storing carbon dioxide
