Bloodvine

This short leaf succulent grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The perforated stem is blood red, and is covered in sharp spines. The toothed-edged, slender, pointed leaves are emerald with cream tips. Thick bunches of them grow from the base in alternating pairs. The leaves are strong, but take some effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 5 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with solid bold green petals decorated with grey dots and a silver central disk, grow at the top, reappearing after 7 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 11 petals in raised layers. It has an overpowering scent that smells like sweat.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the silver flesh is smooth, and the copper sap is thin.
