Blueleaf Tree

This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 129 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, curved trunk covered in wrinkled, brown bark, and inside, the hard wood is black.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with thick bunches of rough, giant, needle-like leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are olive and bold green.

In early spring, it produces hundreds of giant, blue blossoms with broad, flat petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have a weak scent that smells like lemon.

In late summer it forms giant, gold aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
