Orange Needlevine

It takes 3 years for the orange stems to mature, by which point they can have a diameter of 1.6 feet (48 cm) and are smooth and woody.
The needle-like, waxy leaves reach up to 2.1 feet (64 cm) in length. They are solid orange or caramel, with hazel lines, and have toothed edges.
During late spring, the vine produces thick bunches of average blue flowers.
