Grass type: Perennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This large, gray-green grass grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall. The long, narrow stalks grow in thin clumps that are durable.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, slate spikelet.
During the early winter, it produces copious amounts of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a handful of giant grains.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
