Whispering Willow

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 496 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, wavy trunk covered in smooth, gray bark, and inside, the hard wood is mahogany-coloured.

The branches are very long, thin and wispy and are covered with handfuls of leathery, giant, long, tapering leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are crimson on the sides and hazel at the center.

In late summer it forms small, lime, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
