Twining Hazelvine

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small bine is a fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 9 feet (2.7 meters) and growing as high as 62 feet (18.9 meters).

It takes 4 months for the gray-green stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 2 cm (0.8 inches) and are rough and gnarled.

The perforated, soft leaves reach up to 4 inches (10 cm) in length. They are solid orange or caramel, with hazel lines, and have toothed edges.


It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
All parts of the tree are edible.
It grows well in the sun and full shade.
