Emerald Spire Cactus
Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)This small cactus grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 4 wispy stems. Each stem is emerald, and is dotted with small gold spines. The cuboid body is lime green, and is covered in hundreds of rigid indigo spines.
It is slow growing, taking 5 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with solid dark yellow petals and a turquoise central disk grows at the top, reappearing after 3 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 19 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight sphere. It has no scent.
The cactus's skin is nearly impenetrable, the turquoise flesh is rough, and the cyan sap is thin and causes vomiting if consumed.
It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
