Slate Moss

This slate and green moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In moorlands.
It is average-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps, and is overwhelmingly sturdy; it can easily endure flooding and draughts.
When mature, emerald kidney-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release thousands of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
