Silverwood

This small tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 134 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, twisting trunk covered in thin, silky, silver and white bark, and inside, the hard wood is black with white speckles.

The abundance of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with sparse amounts of covered in fine hairs, tiny, slender, pointed leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are hazel with cream tips.

In early spring, it produces thousands of small, violet blossoms with wide petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a powerful scent that smells like sweat.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, olive, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
