Burgundy Spine Cactus

This short cactus grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. The wide stem is burgundy, and is covered in handfuls of rigid orange spines. The round body is emerald, and is covered in thick bunches of flexible black spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 15 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are either aquamarine or dark grey, with a yellow center, grow at the top, reappearing after 2 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 58 petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like alcohol.

The cactus's skin is thin, the bronze flesh is smooth, and the sky blue sap is thin and can cause blindness if consumed.
