Caramel Heartvine
Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This big flower grows up to 6.4 feet (2.0 meters) tall. Its caramel stem is wispy and straight, and the miniature, pink-red leaves are circular with smooth edges. 3 leaves grow at the base of the stem.
Each stem splits 2 to 7 times; a single small flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 58 cm (22.8 inches) wide, with petals that are washed-out red in the center, blood red in the middle and lilac at the edges. The flower head is shaped like a heart made up of several widely spaced, round-tipped petals. They fall easily.
It has a delicate scent that smells like a man, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also particularly attractive to bees.
It can flourish even in standing water.
