Greyfire

Flower type: Annual (Stores water in its stem)

This massive flower grows up to 14.3 feet (4.3 meters) tall. Its gray stem is thick and splits into 10 branching stems at the base, and the giant, green leaves are grey on the underside and are circular with tattered edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

Each stem splits 3 to 9 times; a single medium-sized flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 37 cm (14.6 inches) wide, with petals that are dark grey on the edges and vibrant orange at the center. The flower head is largely flat with dozens of widely spaced narrow petals. They are hardy.

It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like varnish, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by a variety of insects.
