This indigo moss is commonly found growing in small clumps On rotten logs, and In marshes.
It is small, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they spread and grow quickly, and is very light; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald circular capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release millions of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.

It can flourish even in standing water.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
The leaves are excellent for making pulp fibers.
