Crimson Moss

Moss type: Moss

This red moss is commonly found growing in small clumps On trees, and In moorlands.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps, and is very resilient.
When mature, emerald kidney-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release hundred of spores.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It is very rare outside of a particular area.
It is bio-luminescent.
