Goldenfruit
Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This large shrub grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for around 38 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has several sturdy, slanted stems covered in very thick, rough, brown bark, and the wood inside is pale brown.
The branches are tall, rigid and upright that and are covered with small amounts of huge, pleated, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are turquoise and gold, resistant and soft.
In early summer it produces a handful of large, gold blossoms with pleated petals with a tube-like floral cup. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like musk.
In mid-autumn small 8 pointed fruits ripen. The sticky washed-out yellow skin is delicate and spicy, and the soft pink flesh is sweet and spicy and sticky. The light brown seed is tiny and sits at the end of the fruit.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
The bark is frequently covered in moss.
