Copperleaf

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This giant leaf succulent grows up to 177 feet (53.9 meters) tall. The very narrow, elongated stem is drab purple, and is covered in thousands of flexible grey spines. The knobbly leaves are a shade of copper that gradient shifts to dark orange at the top. Thick bunches of them grow on stumpy, pink-red branches that trail down across the ground. The leaves are flexible, and do not detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 4 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are caramel on the underside and white on the top grows at the top, reappearing once every 3 years. The flower head is largely flat with dozens of raised narrow petals. It has a fairly strong scent that smells like a newborn baby.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the drab purple flesh is slimy, and the violet sap is thin and has hallucinogenic properties.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It is very rare outside of a particular area.
It can survive a long time without water.
