Indigo Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This small cactus grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The needle-like stem is gray, and is covered in copious amounts of flexible indigo spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 15 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with violet petals that gradient shift to lime on the outer edge. The central disk is light grey grow at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is shaped like a bowl with 21 raised, round-tipped petals. It has a soft scent that smells like warm cookies.

The cactus's skin is extremely thick, the amber flesh is leathery, and the brilliant purple sap is thin and can cause blindness if consumed.


It can survive a long time without water.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
