Red Spined Cactus
Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)This small cactus grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. The asymmetrical stem is yellow-green, and is covered in handfuls of flexible deep red spines.
It is fast growing, taking 8 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with each petal a slightly different shade of cyan, grow at the top, reappearing after 5 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 38 petals. It has a strong scent that smells like a man.
The cactus's skin is thin, the bold green flesh is soft, and the turquoise sap is thin and causes upset stomachs if consumed.
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
