Firegrass
Grass type: Perennial (Stores water in its stem)This modest-sized, red grass grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The long, tapering stalks grow in small clumps that are flexible and they are slow to spread and grow.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a tiny, dark brown puff.
During the late autumn, it produces very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a few small grains.
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
