Silvergrass
Grass type: Perennial (Sheds its leaves in winter)This short, lime green grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The very thick stalks grow in sparse patches that are light and frail and they overwhelm an area rapidly.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a tiny, silver tuft.
During the early autumn, it produces excessive amounts of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with copious amounts of large grains.
It is suitable for making strong rope
