Crimson Zephyr

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 12 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of long and flexible, twisting stems covered in smooth, light gray bark, and the wood inside is brown.

The branches are short stubs that and are covered with sparse amounts of huge, 9 pointed, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are either crimson, or caramel with grey zig-zags, flimsy and waxy.

In late summer it produces copious amounts of tiny, red flowers with stiff, pointed petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a strong scent that smells like new books.
