Amberfern

Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This big shrub grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 154 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several very thick, wavy stems covered in paper-thin, wrinkled, gray bark, and the wood inside is pale brown.

The branches are very long and thick with thousands of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of tiny, stiff, pointed, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are found in amber and purple varieties, light and sticky.

In late summer it produces thick bunches of small, lime flowers with pleated petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like freshly baked bread.
