Silkwood Tree

This big tree grows up to 64 meters (210.0 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 89 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in silky, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is dark brown.

The small handful of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with small bunches of sticky, small, pleated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are hazel with gold tips.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, grey, shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
