Flower type: Annual (Sheds its leaves in winter)This small flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its yellow stem is very thick and splits into many branching stems a quarter of the way up, and the tiny, gray-green leaves are broad, flat with tattered edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.
Around 60 small flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with gentle blue petals that gradient shift to copper on the outer edge. The central disk is dark brown. The flower head is made up of 12 petals in raised layers. They fall easily.
It has an intense scent that smells like old books, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
