Orange Glowvine
Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall. The very narrow, elongated stem is gray, and is covered in dozens of flexible cream spines. The wavy, orange trunk can grow to as much as 5 feet (1.5 meters) in diameter in the middle. Its yellow branches are very short and thin and start growing at the top the stem.
The large amounts of serrated-edged, perforated leaves are found in florescent orange, amber and blood red varieties. They are flexible, but take little effort to detach.
It is slow growing, taking 43 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with petals that are green in the center, lilac in the middle and sky blue at the edges grows at the top, reappearing after 8 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet made up of 9 raised, narrow petals. It has a faint scent that smells like cheese.
The caudiciform's skin is extremely thick, the grey flesh is smooth, and the amber sap is thin.
It is slightly resistant to fire damage.
