Slateflower

This short flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its brown stem is thick, and the large, lime green leaves are wispy with serrated edges. 17 leaves grow at the base of the stem.

6 to 8 large flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 15 cm (5.9 inches) wide, with solid slate petals decorated with azure dots and a amber central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 20 petals. They are very delicate.

It has the faintest scent that smells like paint, and it has copious amounts of pollen. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.
