Crimson Mintvine
Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This short flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its red stem is very thick and straight with a curved tip, and the small, emerald leaves are thick with tattered edges. 17 leaves grow at the base of the stem.
4 to 10 large flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with green petals and a brilliant yellow central disk. The flower head is shaped like a dish made up of several widely spaced, narrow petals. They are sturdy.
It has an overpowering scent that smells like mint, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind.
