Silvergrass

This modest-sized, silver and ashy green grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The thin stalks grow in extensive patches that are strong.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, green flower.

During the early winter, it produces a modest amount of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with a handful of giant grains.
