Bloodvine

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This short cactus grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 2 stiff, pointed stems. Each stem is moss green, and is covered in sharp spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with solid blood red petals and a black central disk grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals in raised layers. It has a delicate scent that smells like mint.

The cactus's skin is thin, the light brown flesh is leathery, and the caramel sap is thin and has hallucinogenic properties.

It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
It can survive a long time without water.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
