Silverleaf Pine

This giant tree grows up to 98 meters (321.5 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 153 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in rough, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the very light wood is pale yellow.

The branches are very long and thick and are covered with sparse amounts of smooth, giant, long, tapering leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are silver on the edges and caramel at the center.

In early spring, it produces many balls of large, sky blue blossoms with many layers of petals. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like cheap aftershave.

In late summer it forms tiny, silver, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
