Purple Willow

Tree type: Deciduous (Sheds its leaves in winter)

This small tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 453 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in fine, rough, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the flexible wood is pale yellow.

The small bunches of branches are very short and slender and are covered with thick bunches of clammy, large, teardrop-shaped leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are solid light purple with azure edges.

In late summer it forms small, slate, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It comes in 9 varieties, each with a different petal colour.
Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
All parts of the shrub are edible.
The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
It is suitable for making strong rope
