Goldenberry
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Sheds its leaves in winter)This small fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 48 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a flexible, angular trunk covered in smooth, light gray bark, and inside, the hard wood is light brown.
The excessive amount of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with very large amounts of giant, long, narrow leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of yellow that gradient shifts to amber at the top.
In early spring, it produces dozens of tiny, blue blossoms with circular shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like old shoes.
In early summer it produces very large, circular fruit. The crispy caramel skin is thick and edible when roasted; it is very bitter, and the crunchy red flesh is spicy and powdery. The silver seed is tiny and is in the centre of the fruit.
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It can grow in even the most barren lands.
