Copperfruit

This short fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 42 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, wonky trunk covered in thin, silky, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is white with black speckles.

The abundance of branches are short stubs and are covered with small bunches of giant, broad, flat leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are florescent yellow and copper.

In early spring, it produces many balls of small, blood red blossoms with cylindrical shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a mildly strong scent that smells like sugar.

In early winter it produces , oval fruit. The rough cyan skin is tough and edible when cooked; it is savoury, and the very soft yellow flesh is sour and juicy. The orange seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
