Bloodvine

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall. The pleated stem is blood red, and is covered in lots of flexible bronze spines. The straight, gold trunk can grow to as much as 5 feet (1.5 meters) in diameter in the middle. Its caramel branches trail down across the ground and start growing at the top the stem.

The large amounts of smooth-edged, very narrow and elongated leaves are slate with azure tips. They are delicate, and take some effort to detach.

It is fast growing, taking 3 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with light grey petals and a turquoise central disk grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 55 petals. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like an ocean breeze.

The caudiciform's skin is rock-hard, the beige flesh is waxy, and the blood red sap is thin.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
It actively smothers and kills off other plants.
