Yellowfruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 27 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in wrinkled, black bark, and inside, the very light wood is pale brown-grey.

The branches trail down to the ground and are covered with small amounts of large, very thick leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in slate and hazel varieties.

In early spring, it produces several medium-sized, yellow blossoms with needle-like petals. They are sturdy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like rotten eggs.

In early summer it produces , slender, 6 pointed fruit. The rough brown skin is delicate and inedible, and the slightly crunchy yellow flesh is spicy and salty and juicy. The silver seeds are large and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.


The grains are bitter, but very healthy and are suitable for boiling.
It is difficult to cut through.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
