Amberbell

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This massive caudiciform grows up to 24 feet (7.3 meters) tall. The wide stem is amber, and is covered in hundreds of fine, light brown, hair-like spines. The straight, deep green trunk can grow to as much as 24 feet (7.3 meters) in diameter in the middle. Its gray-green branches are short, rigid and upright and start growing at the top the stem.

The small bunches of irregular-edged, wide leaves are either dark brown or brown, with bronze zig-zags. They are hardy, but take little effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 16 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with hazel petals on the lower layer and vibrant purple petals decorated with light grey dots on the inner layer. The central disk is aquamarine grows at the top, reappearing once every 2 years. The flower head is largely flat with 11 raised narrow petals. It has a fairly strong scent that smells like lavender.

The caudiciform's skin is very thick, the lilac flesh is soft, and the dark yellow sap is thin.
